#4 Chookshed Stitchers Challenge.

At the start of March i had this pile of blocks. I couldn't get my head around how to turn all these differing block sizes into a quilt so the decision was made to turn them into other things i'd use.

and now i have a cushion cover
a runner
i thought this little block looked like baubles so i added some loops to the top of the blocks & made a Christmas hanging.

this block into a project holder

the mug block into a mug rug
the remaining 5 larger blocks into tablemats as the J block & the cat blocks were separate blocks.
These blocks are what is left. I'm thinking another runner.

Sadly not much of a dent was made in the B & C stash making these things up. :)

Now to wait & see what number comes up for April

9 patches

Up to week 10 in the tiny 9 patch challenge. There is 100 blocks of each size. I've surprised myself that i'm still making them. :)

Possibly 20 or more years ago i was given a different blood lily to the one i had but i think it has only flowered once in all those years so imagine my surprise when out watering one day to discover a flower. I was waiting for it to open properly to take a photo but grubs got to it. :(
I turfed that grub off & hoped it would open more but when i went back a day of so later another grub had found the flower.

National Quilting Day

Yesterday was National Quilting Day & it was spent on Zoom chatting with lovely ladies from all over the world. Special thanks to Chooky for hosting us again. It is always a lovely time chatting with these ladies & seeing what they are making.

I spent the time making up 1/2" hexie diamonds. I managed to get 13 done.

FNwF March

Yesterday was a binding day for me. 3 had been recently done by the quilting fairy & 2 that had been quilted last year that i had just been to lazy to do. :) As i bound each one i place them on my chair but when i went to get them to take a photograph they had been claimed.

I guess they do make a comfy bed. :). After turfing her off i took a photo of the stack.

All ready for a marathon of hand sewing. 1 was completed last night
A Holly Jolly Christmas by Gail Pan Designs.

Thanks to Cheryll for hosting us. Pop over here to see who joined in.

Chookshed Stitchers Challenge for March

When i saw a post from Deana's blog pop up i took a quick peek to see if it was a challenge number for March & sure enough it was. A quick check on my list to see what number 4 was & darn i hoped that would come up later down the track oh well now to find the thing. First box i looked in. :)

Here is my number 4

I was in a swap on Instagram back in 2014 making blocks using Bonnie & Camille fabrics. The blocks are in all different sizes. The plan was to make a big quilt by filling in with sashings ect but taking a look today i may just make a few small quilts. I'll see when i lay them all out properly.

Happy Leap day

I was going to say i didn't get any of my ufo's worked on/finished during February but i have been working on something. :)

I finished the 10 Santas.

not a completed ufo but 1 border closer to the wallhanging being finished. I'm almost out of thread  with 3 borders too, hopefully my order will arrive soon. I love cottage garden thread but the run really badly. I followed their instructions but the red has run. :(.

What else have i been doing? Making 1/2" hexies for my hexie diamonds.

Getting caught up on my tiny 9 patches.

Week 6

Week 7

I now have 70 of each. There is over 400 of the real tiny ones in the quilt the sew along is based on. Not sure how many i'll make of the bigger ones yet.

Thanks to Lou for enabling me. I loved the cross stitch i had recently seen on her blog so i asked for the name of it. After Lou told me i quickly opened up Mr Google & after a little search i found an Australian shop selling it as a kit. It arrived yesterday along with a free little needle minder. You can just see it under the cat.
